The project for the Rocambolesc ice cream parlour arose from the enthusiasm of opening a new shop to enjoy the desserts of the Celler de Can Roca restaurant.
Rocambolesc is an ice cream parlour that wished to be different from the very beginning, and found its way by going back in time, to the origin of the first ice cream parlours where all products were natural, and to a fantasy world that recalls Charlie and the Chocolate Factory or the comic strips of Profesor Franz de Copenhague, a Spanish classic from the 1930s about strangely complex machines, much in the like of Health Robinson’s contraptions.
The façade plays with the idea of children’s tales and the old-fashioned window frames of ice cream shops.
