The new Turris bakery, located on Barcelona’s Aribau Street, is an adaptation of the first shop designed at Illa Diagonal with the new corporate image.
The sales area was designed to transmit the values of the brand; a workroom with a sales area. This space, having an industrial appearance, is inspired in the traditional workrooms, enhancing both the tradition and craftsmanship that are characteristic of the trade, with the intention that the customer feels more involved in the creation process.
Bread is displayed in wicker baskets that are hung with vertical iron profiles combined with shelves. Some furniture pieces made of iron, and reminiscent of the carts used in the workroom and a long wooden table with easels, serve as countertops to display bread, bake goods, and pastries.
A wall is cladded with an industrial looking corrugated metal sheet lacquered in white that provides a neutral space.
The Storefront facade is opened to allow more natural light inside, and also making the store more visible from the street. The slim wood frame is combined in the upper part with a veneered oak wood that serves as a support for the logo, and is painted with a stenciling technique, following the graphic design concept.
As a differential element of this store, pine wood frames are built and are suspended from the ceiling as an element that embraces the high ceiling height of the premises, and allow hanging the projectors, as well as providing simplicity and austerity to the space.
